Have Space for Yourself

We are to a large part a product of our environment. If our parents did not create the opportunity for us to explore and get to know ourselves, we either thought that we are what they said we were or we go on and did things that they wanted us to do or we followed them in the way that they were or along the path that they took.

The influence repeated itself again when we were in school. Thereafter being contained and put through the factory of school, we got out the other end into a can called job which our career counselor or our parents thought that we should be doing.

Then for some of us came the marriage, children and in-laws. Yes, all these we called our responsibilities.

All the time, we ignored and neglected the spirit, soul, child, person or whatever you want to call it inside of us because of all these noises.

We may know when we started in life but we do not when it will end. The clock of life keeps ticking away.

Time ticks away and never come back. Money: You can accumulate it but cannot take it away when you leave this world. Energy: It gets less and less when you aged. Why not allocate some of all these just so that you can become more of you?

Do not be at your death-bed and regret that you should not had work so hard at your job. Only you know who you are. Nobody else can or cares. Only you can choose to be more of who you are.

Here is some encouragement from Steve Jobs.

Everything around you which you call life is made up by people that are no smarter than you. You can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use. The moment that you realize that you can mold life, that is really the most important thing. The important thing is to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you are just going to live it versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make a mark in life.
